Basundi recipe - How to make Basundi - Simple dessert with milk - Sweets, Dessert recipe

This is a very simple dessert but it does require some time to prepare. As this requires simmering milk to thicker consistency. It is served with loads of nuts, saffron and cardamom. I have used nutmeg in it but if you want to skip it go ahead. I have used brown sugar in this recipe so the color is a bit brown. This sweet is new for me. Perfect for milk lovers. I used full fat milk which works better for this recipe. 

Milk - 500ml
Sugar - 1 tablespoon (If you prefer little more sweeter add 2 teaspoon more)
Cardamon - 1/4 teaspoon
Mixed nuts - 1 tablespoon
Nutmeg  a pinch
Saffron  - 1/8 teaspoon


Boil the milk take out 2 tablespoon of milk and soak saffron
Continue to simmer milk for 20 more mins keep mixing malai formed on the top and sides
Add Saffron milk continue to boil for 2 mins. Add Cardamom
Add Nutmeg, Sugar
Add Nuts, Continue to simmer for another 3-5 mins or till desired consistency. Switch it off 
Let it cool down and refrigerate it 
Serve chilled
