Roasted Moong Dal Recipe - Microwave roasted Moong dal recipe - Simple snack recipe - Healthy snack recipe

My Mum does roasted Chana dal for making podi. I am still waiting to take pics of it to post it in my blog (hopefully soon). But she usually deep fries it. I wanted to try microwave version. For some reason I thought moong dal would taste better. This tasted almost like the deep fried version. So healthier version doesn't have to be boring. Try this roasted Moong dal for quick snack. I was trying diff light for the pic. Not very happy will update the pic when I get chance.
Ingredients:

Moong dal / split yellow dal - 1.5 cup
Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Hing / asafoetida - A pinch
Salt to taste
Curry leaves - 10 (optional)


Method:

Wash and soak dal for 1 hr. Drain the water leave it on for 30 mins. Spread it in clean cloth till moisture is fully absorbed. I left it out for 2 hrs. 
Take dal and rest of the ingredients in a broader vessel.Mix it well. 
Line the baking tray with baking sheet. Spread the dal. Pre heat the oven at 180 degree. Roast it for 15-17 mins (or till the dal is crispy) mix it in between at regular interval
