Salem Thattu Vadai Set recipe - Thattai Vadai sandwich recipe - Snack recipes - Kids friendly Recipes

My kids love any snack esp  right after coming back from school. This recipe is something new for me. Normally I make Thattai chaat. I kind of like this version of "chaat" as this allows me to sneak in vegetables.. Even though in the cookery show and the blogs I have seen beet, carrot, onion you can let your creativity run wild with this. You can add sprouts, boiled potato even avocado in this. I referred recipe from Raks Kitchen  for this post. But I have tried with tomatoes, avocados too.. It tastes good also

Grated Beet - 5 tablespoons
Grated Carrot - 5 tablespoons
Grated Onion - 5 tablespoons
Grated Coconut - 2 tablespoons (Optional)
Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
Salt as required
Pepper powder  as required
Chaat masala as required
Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Green chutney - As required
Onion Tomato Chutney - As required (I didn't use it)
Raisins - 1 teaspoon (optional)


Grate Beetroot, onion, carrot. Mix it with coriander leaves, pepper powder, chaat masala and Salt. Mix well. Set aside
Now take 2 thattai and apply Green chutney on one side of it. Apply Red chutney on other vada. Each set you will use 2 chutney (one on each one of it. Sometime I mix green and sweet chutney one one)
Place the salad mix one one of the vada and close it off with other 
Now this sandwich is ready to be served
