White Sauce Bread sandwich - Bread sandwich recipe - Kids friendly recipe

My 1st son is big fan of Italian food. So When I saw this recipe at 4thsensecooking sometime ago I loved it. I made it a  few times for Weekend brunch. Whenever I make it it disappears very fast. So I didn't get chance to click and post. Last weekend I got up early and made sauce and toasted the bread early and kept it ready. So when the kids woke up I started making sandwich and clicked before they brushed teeth and had their milk.. So hear you go with the recipe

Carrot - 1 1/4 cup (I have used 1 medium size carrot. Gra)
Green bell pepper - 1/4 cup ( 1/2 of small bell pepper)
Onion - 1/4 cup (Optional.  I didn't use)
Milk  - 350 ml
Pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
Dried Oregano - 1/2 teaspoon
Mixed Italian herb mix - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Mint and Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Butter - 1 tablespoon
all purpose flour - 1 tablespoon


Peel the skin and grate the carrot. wash and deseed the capsicum. Chop it finely. Heat the butter in the pan. Add carrot and fry till raw smell goes off. Add capsicum and fry for another 2 mins. 
Now add All purpose flour and mix well. Reduce the flame. Now add milk and continue to boil till you get creamy texture. 
Add oregano, pepper powder and Italian herb and mix well. Add salt, coriander, mint leaves. mix well. 
Let it cook till you get desired consistency. Switch it off. toast the bread with butter. Now spread the white sauce and close it with another toasted bread
Serve it hot as breakfast / brunch / snack
