Aloo Mutter - Potato Peas - Vegan gravy for rice, roti - Vegetarian gravy for rice, roti, chapathi, Naan

As you notice I don't have much of peas base recipe. That is because my 2nd son is not a big fan of peas. But I have decided to try some peas dishes when I can find some alternative for him. Other day I had some side dish left from previous day which was his favourite. I have tried this peas masala. Rest of my family loved it
Ingredients

Onion - 1 (chopped finely)
Tomatoes - 2 (Chopped finely)
Garlic - 4 pods
Ginger - 1 inch
Potato / Aloo - 2
Peas - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Red Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Cilantro / coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 teaspoon

Method:

Cook the potatoes and Peel skin. Cube them except 1/2 potato. Thaw the frozen peas and wash them (if u are using fresh peas skip this step) cook them for 3-5 mins (according to the instruction on the package) and keep it aside

Heat 1.5 teaspoon of oil add ginger / garlic and fry till garlic is slight brown in color. Add Onion and fry till they are transparent. Add tomatoes and Fry till mushy. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and red chilli powder. Fry till raw smell goes off. Add 1/2 potatoes and fry for a min or 2. Switch it off. 
Let it cool down. Once the Onion mixture is cooled down grind them to smooth paste. 

Heat rest of oil in the pan and add cumin seeds. Let it crackle. Add grinded paste and required water (I have added about 1 cup of water). Let it cook for couple of mins. Add diced potatoes and cook for a 3 more mins. Now add cooked peas and cook for another 2 mins. Switch it off and garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice / roti / naan/ fried rice
