As you can see from my previous post most of the Sundays I will try new one pot meal. In addition to vegetables / gravies Raita is a must. Since I shop for groceries on Saturday most of the time I will try to do some vegetable based raita. My kids esp 2nd one loves Radish. There are some vegetables you love or hate for their unique flavour. I love Radish but due the unique aroma of it I avoid bringing to office. So most the time I cook when we have meals at home
Ingredients:
Radish - 1.5 cups (after finely chopped. I prefer to chop than grate)
Fennel seeds powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Mor Millagai - Buttermilk chillies - 4 (as per your spiciness) or Red chillies - 3-5
Curry leaves - 10
Yogurt - 1 cup to 1.5 cup (I have used homemade yogurt)
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dhal - 1 teaspoon
Bengal gram dhal - 1 teaspoon
Method:
Head the pan and add oil. When hot add mustard seeds and let it pop. Add more millagai, mustard and urad dhal fry till dhals are brown in color and chillies are done and crisp. Take out the chillies and chop them into 1/4 inch pieces. Add radish, curry leaves and salt. Let it cook. Add the chopped chillies back. Mix well. Add fennel seeds powder and cumin seeds powder. Mix well. Fry for another 2 mins. Add Coconut and mix well. Switch it off after a min. Add whipped yogurt and mix well.
Serve with your favourite dish
