Besanwali Bhindi Sabzi Recipe / Besan Okra / Besan Ladies fingers / Vendaikai with kadalai mavu

I do Besanwali Bhindi / Beasn Okra once in a while as an alternate to normal Okra / ladies finger fry. I love the Gujarati flavoured vegetable side dish. However I saw this recipe at Indian Khana. In that together with besan flour she has added coarse peanut powder too. I like the idea of adding peanut. So I have book marked that recipe. Today managed to try out. It came out extremely tasty

Small Tender Okra/Bhindi - 600 g
Oil - 2 teaspoon
Asafoetida/Hing - A Pinch
Cumin Seeds - 1.5 teaspoon

For Masala
Chickpeas Flour/Besan - 3 tablespoon
Roasted Crushed Peanuts - 5 tablespoon
Red Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)
Coriander Seeds Powder - 3/4 teaspoon
Dry Mango Powder/Amchur - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - To Taste
Oil - 2 teaspoon

Take a large bowl and add in all the ingredients under For masala section.  Mix well. keep it aside.
Wash, pat dry and cut both ends of okra, cut into 1 inch pieces (When the okra is fully dried up I find the stickiness is much lesser). Heat the oil in a pan or wok add hing/Asafoetida, cumin seeds and let it crackle.  Add okra and saute until golden brown in medium flame it took about 5 mins for me.
Now add Besan flour mixture and mix well. Let it cook till Okra is fully crispy. For me it took 20 mins in medium flame. Close the lid and cook again for another 3-4 mins.
Switch off the flame and serve hot
