Ada Pradhaman (Rice flakes kheer) - Palada payasam recipe- Pooja recipe - Onam Recipe - FOR VINAYAKAR CHATURTI / VARALAKSHMI POOJA / VARALAKSHMI Nombu

I must admit this is a new dish to me. After seeing this in many blogs during Onam I add it to my list of things to be tried. I tried for the first time last month. But couldn't take pics of final products. For me making kheer is one way of flavouring my milk ( I need some flavours to take milk) also it is easy to make it healthy. I loved this recipe.. My son also loved it
Ingredients
Ada / Rice flakes - 1/2 cup ( I have used store brought)
Sugar - 1/2 cup (if you wants it more sweeter increase it to 3/4 or 1 cup). I have used brown sugar also
Cashew nuts - 1 tablespoon (split into 2 halves)
Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Coconut pieces - 1 tablespoon (Optional) I didn't use
Milk - 1/2 litre / 500 ml ( I have used 300 ml of high calcium milk and 200 mil of slim milk)
Water - 300 ml
Ghee / oil - 1 teaspoon
Raisin - 1 teaspoon

Method:

Heat the kada and melt the ghee fry cashew nuts and raisins till nuts are brown in color. If you are using Coconut pieces add that and fry also. 
Cook Ada per the instruction on the package.
Boil the milk and keep it aside. Heat the water and add cooked Ada. Add boiled milk and boil it till it reduce into 1/2. 
Add cardamom boil it for another 1 to 2 mins. Add fried nuts and mix well. 
Serve hot or cold
