Garlic Spicy Rice - Spicy Garlic rice - One pot meal - Rice recipes

I was in a mood for spicy rice.. Being a weekend I am also not prepared to spend long time in the kitchen. Then I remembered recipe I saw at Rak's Kitchen Spicy Garlic Rice. It is quite flavourable and very easy. My family loved it. It is keeper recipe for me
Ingredients:

Cooked Rice - 2 cups ( I have used brown rice)
Garlic - 20 Pods (original called for 6-7)
Coconut - 2 tablespoon
Red chillies - 6-8 ( I have used full 8)
Curry Leaves - 10
Oil - 1 tablespoon ( I have used olive oil. Original recipe called for coconut oil)
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Urad Dhal - 2 teaspoon
Bengal Gram dhal - 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida a pinch

Method:

Cook the rice and spread it on broader vessel. Separate the grains.
Heat the kada. Add 1/2 teaspoon of oil. Fry Red chillies till it is roasted or crisp. Add Garlic and fry for few mins without changing color. Add Coconut and fry for few mins (don't change the color) . Switch off the flame. Let it cool down
Transfer it to the blender and grind it coarsely (just pulse it)
Heat the kada. Add rest of the oil and when oil is hot add mustard seeds. When it start to pop add dhals, curry leaves and asafoetida. Fry till dhals are brown in color. Add grinded Garlic paste and Cooked rice.

Mix it well and serve hot with your favourite side dish
