Vegetarian French Toast (with custard powder) - Sweeter Version

My 2nd son is allergic to egg and I don't eat egg. Every time I make french toast it is only for my hubby and my 1st son. My 2nd one always crib about it and how he wish he can have french toast after hearing all about it from his brother.. I tried doing masala toast, Rawa toast but he was not very impressed with it. So my search for prefect replacement for french toast continued. Hurray! I found one ....He loved this version. For me I find it bit sweet.

Bread - 4 slices
Custard powder - 2 tablespoon (If you don't have custard powder use cron flour with vanilla essence)
Sugar - 2 tablespoon (used brown sugar)
Milk - 1/2 cup ( low fat)
Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon (Optional. I love it so I have added)
Butter as needed

Boil milk. Let it cool down. Mix Custard powder, Sugar, Milk and cinnamon powder in a broader vessel (Need broader as you need to dip bread in it).
Mix well without any lumps. Heat the non stick tawa /  flat pan. Grease with butter. Take one bread at a time and dip both the sides of  bread in custard powder paste. Do it quickly (not more than one to 2 sec)  so that it does not get soggy.
Toast it in low flame till it is golden in color
Serve hot with your favourite bread accompaniments (butter / Jam / Mapple syrup / Honey) I find by itself taste better as it is sweet by itself
