Kootu Powder (Spice to make Vegetable gravy)

I came across this recipe @ http://www.fewminutewonders.com/2011/11/kootu-podi-kootu-powder.html. I loved the combination of the spices. So decided to give it a try. This really gives nice flavour to the vegetable gravy. When you get time you can make it so that you can just add this to any vegetable gravy and make fast , tasty, healthy side dish for rice or roti or chapathi or wraps


Ingredients:

Udad Dal - 1 cup
Channa Dal - 3/4 cup
Black Pepper - 2 tbsp ( as per your taste)
Red Dry Chillies - 2 (to your spice level)
Cumin Seeds - 2 tablespoon
Oil - 1 teaspoon



Method:
Heat the wok with some oil. Roast all the ingredients, allow it to cool and coarsely powder it in blender. 


Store it in air tight container. Use it when you make vegetables. Add a spoon or 2 depends on your taste. This powder can be kept for couple of months outside and additional month in the fridge
