7 Bean Soup

I saw this wonder full dhal mix (7 Beans Mix. Azuki Beans, Black Beans, Mung Beans, Kidney Beans, Lima Beans, Red Lentils and Green Lentils) in shop when I was doing weekend groceries.. I was so tempted and brought home one pocket. Later I was wondering what to do with it.  I decide to try Soup first. It was pretty tasty


7 bean mix - 1 cup
Carrot - 1/2 if it is big if small 1
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Garlic -3 pods
Pepper - 6-8 (to your spice level)
Red Chilli - 2
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Salt per taste
Oil - 1 teaspoon


Wash and Soak beans in the water for 4-6 hours
Pressure cook the dhals till it is fully cooked ( I used 4 whistles) with Garlic, pepper, cumin seeds and Chilli.
Keep the 1/2 of the dhal aside
Grind the rest to a paste
Heat the kada and add oil to it
When it is hot add onion and fry till transculent. Add Carrot and 1/2 cup water (if the dhal had more water you can use that water) Cook Carrot till it is 3/4 cook
Add the grinded Dhal paste and kept aside one
Let it boil
Switch off and serve (add pepper powder if needed)
