Horse Gram Kulipaniyaram

I Like Horse Gram. I almost have one spoon of horse gram powder once a day. I strongly believe with diet, exercise and Horse gram once a day helps me to stay in good health. Luckily this is also liked by my family. So end up doing horse gram in one or other form. You can find plain Kuli Paniyaram recipe at


Idli Batter - 2 cup
Horse Gram - 3/4 cup (soaked over night)
Onion - 1 chopped finely
Green Chillies - 2 finely chopped
Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves - 2 tablespoon (Finely chopped)


Soak Horse Gram overnight and grind it with salt
Mix grinded paste to Idli batter and mix it well. Add Water if required (batter should be in idli batter consistency)
Heat the kada and add oil 
When it is hot add Curry Leaves and green chillies fry for 20 sec

Add onion and fry till it is soft (no need to fry till brown)
Mix it with batter. Add coriander leaves and mix it well

Heat the paniyaram chatti and add 1 drops oil into each hole. 
Once it heats, add spoonfuls of batter into each hole until its more than 3/4th full. Let it cook until the bottom is browned and crisp.
