Red Onion Chutney


·         4 Onions
·         Dry red pepper / Red Chillies
·         2 tsp Tamarind paste
·         Oil for frying ( I have used Olive Oil)

For Seasoning:

·         3 tsp Urad dal 
·         1 tsp mustrad seeds 
·         Curry leaves - a sprig


·         Cut the onion length wise
·         Heat the Oil in Kada
·         Add Red Chillies and fry for sometime
·         Add Cut onion and fry till Onion is cooked (if u add salt when frying it will be done fast)
·         Add Tamarind when Onion is half done and fry together
·         Switch off and let the onion cool off
·         Tranfer onion, chillies and tamarind to mixer and grind it (if u line coarse consistency you can do so) I did it till it is nicely done
·         Do the seasoning and add to the chutney and just run mixer for a sec and transfer to serving dish

How to do Seasoning:

·         Heat the oil
·         Add mustard seeds
·         When it splutter add urad dhal and curry leaves
·         When Urad Dhal is brown you are done
