Yet another Mango recipe to try before season ends. Again I have used alphonso for this recipe. You can adjust the sugar level based on the sweetness of mango. Kesari is my husband's favourite Indian sweet. When I tried this recipe I was not sure whether he would like it or not. I am not a big fan of sweets. But I love any type of mango. This kesari looks so lovely right? Perfect natural yellow color from mango made this even more attractivePin It Now!
My kids love anything with Italian flavour. Even though this rice crossed my mind I was not very sure about it. So I kept postponing it. Finally I got to try it last week. Kids loved it. I have added capsicum, Mushroom in Pizza sauce. Also I have added both spring onion and coriander. You can replace coriander with parsley. I have used cheese to do final bake but you can add it when you boil sauce. Enjoy this kiddy treat!Pin It Now!
My husband loves Kulfi. Also after trying out Kulfi, I wanted to try out Mango kulfi. This year for some reason I liked alphonso mango more than all other varieties (May be I am not choosing right ones). In Kulfi I have used bread for thickening but this time I tried corn flour for thickening. Even though both tasted good I preferred the bread choice is yours! Mango and saffron combo is my favourite too. So I have added saffron to this Kulfi too.Pin It Now!
About a couple of years ago I found biscuit butter at our super market (NTUC). I found both Marie biscuit butter and Speculoos. My kids loved it. Even my in laws preferred biscuit butter over peanut butter. So It is a must every time when I visit them. However after some time I used to get only Speculoos and for the past 1 month I didn't even get that. Every weekend when I prepare the list for weekly grocery my son will add biscuit butter there. Since I didn't get it I was looking for recipe to make it at home. As expected I found few recipes on the net. I tried out using my options of ingredients. This spread / biscuit butter is vegan yes despite the name no butter added!Pin It Now!
I tried this combo for the first time and loved it. Normally when I first try it out I don't take pics. I take stepwise only 2nd time if the dish is good. Some how for this one I some how felt it would turn out good. So I took pics in my first try. I love this combo. Adding spring onion give nice flavour to this gravy. This goes very well with rice or chapathi or dosa or iddyappam or idli too. Even My helper thought I was going to make 2 different dishes when I asked her to get the ingredients ready. She told me this tastes really good.Pin It Now!
If you are looking for something filling and healthy with Millet and with Indian touch then you should try this. This can be good toddler meal option. If you are doing this for kids reduce the amount of green chillies. I have used Little millet for this recipe. However if you prefer you can replace it with Kodo millet or barnyard millet. I haven't tried with Bajra / Pearl or Ragi/ finger millet so far. If you try do let me know the taste. Buckwheat can be used in place of millet tooPin It Now!
During last school holiday, I wanted to make some evening snack for the kids. After tasting Roasted vegetable Puff cup my son was saying that curry would go better with pastry than simple roasted vegetable. I had some sweet potato so I decided to make the bite size curry puff. Generally my kids are not a big fans of sweet potato. So I seldom buy sweet potato. But in my last trip to my sis I made this sweet potato cutlet and kids loved it. So I have decided to try it as stuffing for puff. Kids really loved it.Pin It Now!
Moong dal Ice Candy recipe - Sprouts Moong dal ice candy - Summar recipes - Sprouts recipe - Dessert recipes
I saw this in Jey space last year and wanted to try last year itself but somehow missed it. Recently I have a new helper and she said she normally does this green bean dessert which is a famous local dessert. Then I remembered this recipe. I decided to do it as Popsicle. In a recent smoothie recipe for Kungumam Thozhi I have posted sprouted overnight soaked rice porridge so I am pretty sure this would taste good too. I have used sprouts since I had sprouts at home if you don't have it use normal moong beans.. Soak it for 2 hrs and cook it to use. This can be done as Popsicle too
Pickles! I love almost all Indian Pickles. First time when I was in China they asked me whether I want to try cucumber pickle I said why not? When they got it I was surprised and I was double confirming about the dish few times. They promised that it was pickle and it is vegetarian. The color was white. So I thought they may be they have used green chillies or something. When I tried it was so sour!. I was asking what it was? they told me why it was pickled with vinegar.. That;s the first time I learned about vinegar which was like 20 years ago! Interesting.. From that time when I ask for pickle I ask them whether they have Indian type .Pin It Now!
I am not a big sweet person but I like kulfi. My kids prefer normal ice cream so Even if I go out with my family I don't get to order as I want only a small portion of it. However when I go out with my friends or colleague I order it. My co-sister makes very good kulfi. Since I like it she always makes it whenever I visit her. I bought kulfi mould last summer. Wow! it takes one year to do it at home..(if the food is just for you or knowing your family won't eat it kind of put you off from doing it) I made small qty just to try and post herePin It Now!
Vegetarian Thai Raw Mango Salad - Raw Mango Salad - Mango recipe - Healthy Snack recipe - Healthy Starter recipe
I love Raw mango dishes. I also love roasted peanuts and the little sweetness in Thai salad. I do Thai Papaya salad more often. Now its the Raw mango season so I wanted to try Mango salad. There is a hawker center near our place where there is a Thai outlet and they sell really nice mango salad. They add bean sprouts in it. I was not sure whether my kids would like it so I skipped it. If you prefer to add pls. go ahead to add handful of it. I have referred to my papaya salad for sauce but made some adjustment like didn't add lemon juice as mango itself is little sour etc.. Enjoy this quick salad for this summerPin It Now!
My mum's little garden has couple of mango trees, Imam pasand and banganapalli. It grows by itself (from the thrown seeds). Last year we had a good collection from it.. My mum said she didn't buy any mango and that what she got from the tree was good enough. This year I am waiting for it. Last week I had some visitor from India. She sent some mangoes. She told me she got some new plants too. And this one started giving mangoes this year. Initially she thought it was fruit tree too but raw mango was little bit sour. But to me it is not sour enough for pickle or sambar. I tried this chutney it came out pretty good
Hotel style creamy white korma recipe - Hotel style creamy white kurma recipe - Vegetarian Gavy recipe - Side dish recipe
I learned this recipe from one my previous helpers. It is a very simple and quick recipe. It is also quite creamy it goes well with idli, dosa, chapathi or even paratha. I have done so many times after that but I never had a chance to do a complete post. This always happens for me esp for those dishes I make more often still not on the blog. This is perfect for clearing your fridge with all the left over vegetables too . I had left over Carrot, cauliflower and beans which I have used but you can add vegetable of your choice. Also if you like mint leaves add few together with coriander leaves.Pin It Now!
During school / college days our gang visits a couple of ice cream parlours at least twice a week. Whenever we have little bit of time or end early day we end up in these ice cream place. There are times I end up walking home as we use up all our money for having ice creams . But with the gang it is fun. During last trip to Trichy I heard one of the parlour we used to frequent is already close down. Flooda is one of their speciality item together with butterscotch. This is first time I did at home. It is very simple (dangerously simple) to put together if you have all the ingredients. I didn't have sabja seeds instead I have used Chia seeds. But you have sabja seeds or basil seeds pls. use that. If you want to add few Jelly pieces go ahead per your taste. My boys are not big fan of Jelly so I didn't addPin It Now!
