Crispy Lemon grass Tofu - Tofu starter recipe - Tofu recipe

I do tofu at home at least 2 to 3 times a week for dinner. Normally I serve it as a starter. I have posted a few Hot and sweet lime tofu, Basil tofu, Pepper Tofu, Sweet and hot Sesame tofu, Pan Fried Tofu.. This evening when I wanted to make Tofu I wanted to make use of lemon grass that I had in the fridge. I love Lemon grass flavour. Normally I add to the tea. Whenever I make the tea the aroma in the house is so amazing. I was not sure whether my kids would like it esp my 2nd one. He loved it. So you can try this differently flavoured Tofu. You can replace Paneer in place of Tofu in this recipe

Feta cheese Sprouts Sandwich - Simple sandwich recipe -Kids friendly recipe - Kids Lunch box recipe

Most kids love Paneer however most kids are not big fans of sprouts. I wanted to try Paneer and sprout sandwich for their evening snack. As a backup I prepared to do chocolate banana sandwich. But they loved the paneer sandwich so much I didn't have fall back on it. This sandwich can be a meal by itself. It is well balanced with the addition of Sprouts

I wanted to try milkshake with matcha. I heard a lot about milk and banana combo not being good so I had used Almond and cashew and water. But if you are okay with the normal milk pls go ahead and use it. Or you can replace it with Almond or coconut milk too. This is perfect for breakfast.

This is one of the favourite recipe for my kids. They love plain Bhatoora  too. Sometimes as a modified version I try Aloo Bhatura. Bhatura with chana masala. I will not have any issue to get them to finish their plate. I can see the happiness in their eyes when they hear or see it in their plate.

Ajwain Paratha - Indian flat bread with Ajwain seeds - Healthy Roti, Paratha recipe

I Love Ajwain flavour. However my kids are not a big fans of it. So I seldom add those to my dishes. But whenever I get a chance to sneak it in I will do it. Recently I tasted this at my friend's place and it had been very long time since I made or had Ajwain paratha..These days my kids taste buds are changing so I wanted to give it a try again. So here you go with Ajwain Paratha. A very flavourful and healthy dish

This rice is quite rich with cashew and cream. I have posted Jaipuri rice with cashew and cream combo. This one is close to it but it has it's own flavour due to tomatoes and masalas in it. It is perfect for your party or any celebration. I have referred this recipe from Tarla Dalal book I had. I made my own modification according to my taste. Below is the measurement for 1 cup rice. I have done more than that so in stepwise you see more ingredients

Hot Hot summer! Yesterday I went out for 5 mins around 2 PM and it was so so hot.. When I came back I wanted something chill. I like sweet potato however the rest of my family doesn't so I always look for some alternatives to include sweet potato into our diet. So I Sneak it in as burger patty or stuffing to wrap etc.. As you notice in all these dish Sweet potato is one of the main ingredients not just by itself. Sometime I am successful in hiding but sometimes not. Since kids loved the burger patty I thought of sneaking it in the gravy for Roti.

Our entire family loves puliyodarai. All the time I make it with Pulikaachal. So this time I wanted to do something different this time. I saw this recipe in my book so wanted to try. I tempted to do it because of ginger. I love ginger flavour. However not sure about rest of family. Everyone loved it. Sometimes alternate taste to regular taste works. Whenever my kids order non veg (even though I am a vegetarian they pretty much eat everything), they try Chicken tikka masala. I wanted to try the vegetarian version. I love the matcha base recipe.. It is high in antioxidant and I love the flavour of green tea. Only recently I started using matcha tea powder. I love to add the dose in my smoothie it enhances the flavour as well as nutritional value of the smoothie. I love to try different combo for my breakfast smoothie. Even though you can use normal fresh yogurt I prefer to use the greek yogurt for smoothie. I have add brown sugar for this smoothie but it is up to you to add your own sweetner like honey or maple syrup

I love this dish. It is a perfect blend of flavours. It is one of the must do dishes for Tamil new year or any new year. But after moving to Singapore we get mango almost every day. So I make it very often. I love it on my bread toast too. My husband likes it with curd rice also. If I make it for New year I will add Neem flower while tempering. It will give all 5 tastes sweet, sour, bitter, saline (thuvarpu) and salt in one recipe. Happy new year to all my readers!

My sis always do broccoli stir fry with Potato which I need to get the recipe and will post it later. I normally do broccoli cheesy wrap with it. This time when I brought it I wanted to do potato broccoli stir fry. But after cutting it it was bit more so decided to plain stir fry. In this made a onion, garlic and ginger paste. But you can just fry it before adding broccoli.

You must be wondering why I tag this to snack. My kids love waffle for any meal or snack. This can be perfect for a after school snack. I have made this combo few times however the first time when I made it I was bit worried this might turn bit soggy but to my surprise this came out perfect. This is perfect to replace regular all purpose flour waffle.

This time when I was in India I saw rawa from most of the millets. I really went on a shopping spree and bought pretty much all rawa. This has become a habit now .. Pick up any new food stuff first and start to think what to do with it later. I have posted ildi made with idli rava and samai. I find it is hard to go wrong with idli rava. So this is perfect for bachelors who wants to try their hands in making idli.

When I saw this recipe sometime ago at Veganricha I bookmarked it. I only got a chance to do it today I was not sure whether kids would like it so I added cheese on top of that.. I loved every bite of it and even without any cheese on my piece.. It is quite healthy and tasty.

When I went out for a drink with my friends I was not in a mood for my regular tea. I ordered Barley drink. I was expecting simple barley drink but it had beancurd skin. Even though I heard about this I have tasted in savory starter.  I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of it. My friends helped me in getting beancurd sheet. It is very refreshing drink

Burnt Garlic Vegetable Fried rice - Indo Chinese Vegetable Fried Rice - Indo chinese Recipe

I heard about indo Chinese vegetable fried rice some time ago and was hesitating to do it as I thought it would taste bitter. However recently I got chance to try it out in one of the restaurants. It was really tasty and quite flavorful with loads of garlic. I have posted Chinese Fried rice with brown rice and normal Chinese Vegetable fried rice in my space. This rice is about the same except for the addition of burnt garlic but that gives unique flavour to this rice. So give it a try!

Mushroom Corn ki Jugal Bandhi - Mushroom corn subzi - Mushroom corn gravy - Side dish recipe

When I saw this in Venkatesh Bhat show in Viijay TV I have bookmarked it. I was attracted to it by the name. It is really interesting recipe. I have replaced the corn kernels with baby corn. After long time I made the gravy without grinding the onion. Really loved this variation. I made some modification to our taste and availability of the ingredients

I love custard fruit salad Esp with Banana and apple. I find that both of these fruits taste better with custard cream. After my kids have grown up I haven't done this as they are not big fans of it.
