Peas Kachori - Mutter kachori - Snack recipe

My whole family love Khasta Kachori . In fact whenever I asked my kids for their option of snacks I always get Kachori for an answer. I have made khasta kachori few times. I was postponing making of peas kachori because my 2nd is not a big fan of peas. Since the filling is in mashed form I have decided to give it a try without let him know. When he tried he really loved it. He found out that the stuffing is made of peas within one bite.

I love Field beans esp in eggplant sambar. When I was in India we used to get this during Pongal season. My mum told me these days we get it almost everyday. So I asked her to bring some when she visited a few days ago. I wanted to try mochai fry but the beans were too small. So I decided to try some gravy for Chapathi / roti. This recipe doesn't contain ginger, onion or Tomatoes. It came out very well. This can go well with steamed rice too

These days I always replace rice with millet varieties. I find no difference in taste. My kids also love it. I find it keeps me filled for longer. These millets are high in fiber and a healthier option than rice. These days I get millets in Singapore itself. So it makes it easier for me to include in our diet. Small Onion Pickle - Shallots pickle - Side dish recipe

I love this small onion pickle. Most of the time my mum prepares and sends it. So I never get to do it as most of the time I have this pickle in my fridge. This time when my mum visited me I told her not to bring some of the things as I wanted her to do it here so that I can take step by step pics. This is one such recipe. This is really a very simple but it goes well with idli, dosa, bread or even with chapathi / chapati

Whole Wheat Almond cookies - Eggless Cookies Recipe - Healthy kids snack recipe

I was looking for some quick eggless cookies and with wheat flour. Our whole family loves nuts. To make healthy it I have decided to use Almond in this cookies. My kids loved it.  This is eggless and so soft. Perfect for tea time .. According to my son it is so addictive ..Originally I baked it to be distributed but it finished. I had to bake the 2nd batch :-)

I love quinoa. In fact whole family likes it. I always look to include it as part our meal at least twice a week. These days I have been trying different types of idli. I have posted quinoa dosa before. I wanted to try the idli. I pretty much followed similar proposition just that I have increased urad dhal. Idli came out pretty soft and tasty. My kids love mushroom. It is one of the vegetables my kids eat in any form. But mushroom is something you have to do immediately or max at least within a day. Even though I get many different varieties in Singapore I normally use button mushroom in my cooking. The other day I forgot that I had mushroom but soaked Black eyed peas for making side dish for roti. But had some mushroom in the fridge which I bought it a day before. So I thought of trying both together. After making the dish and taking snaps I checked the net for naming the dish.. As expected I saw this name.. So here you go with recipe

Paneer macaroni - Macaroni with Indian Cottage Cheese - Paneer pasta - Simple kids friendly meal

I wanted to try this Paneer Macaroni for so long.. Macaroni is one of the most favourite dish for my kids. I always use parmesan cheese in making pasta / macaroni. But I don't like the sticky sticky texture.Esp after it cools down. So I seldom pack it for lunch. I made paneer and it was so soft that I thought of adding that to Macaroni instead of regular cheese I use. First question my son asked me when I served him the macaroni was why no cheese today. I asked him to try it out. He said he loved this taste. This one can be good lunch box recipe for your kids...So try this out.

Varagu Adai - Kodo Millet Adai - Kodo Millet pancake - Healthy breakfast, dinner recipes

Now days millet based dishes have become norm at our household. Kodo Millet works so well in almost all Indian dishes. I find that Kodo millet works better than other millets in most dishes. Adai is one of my favourite and is also a protein rich Indian vegan dish. Well I would say at my home at least. I know my in laws will have Adai with fresh homemade butter and my father has it with jaggery. For me just by it self is good enough even though with Avial/Aviyal I can take extra adai.

I love ginger. Dishes made from fresh ginger juice wow! really so tasty.. I love to have this as soup / starter. Esp when you are not feeling well this is perfect dish. This doesn't require any onion or garlic.Perfect for fasting recipe too. Try this and provide your feedback

Tomato Mushroom Rice - Simple one pot meal - Lunch box recipes

Mushroom! One of the must have vegetables for my kids at least once a week. My kids love it in any form. Mushroom is so high in protein.. When I cook mushroom dishes with fresh mushroom esp it stays crisp after cooking and less black part at the center. Even though my kids like all type of mushroom I always use button mushroom in my cooking. In this rice I have added carrot while grinding masala. It gave a slight sweet taste to the rice.

I had few fully ripped avocados in the fridge. I wanted to try something interesting. My son wanted some cake. So I decided to do vegan Avocado pound cake. I searched for recipe in the net. Most of the recipes I saw in the net were with Eggs. I loved the flavour of it. My 2nd son who is not a big fan of avocado loved this cake. In this cake you can still taste the avocado even though not very strong you will have the hint of it.

Long Beans Poriyal - Long beans dry masala - Simple side dish for Rice / Roti

I seldom do long beans. Last week when I visited wet market for weekly purchases the shop vendor told me the long beans is really nice.. I should try.. I thought of giving it a try. So I brought some. I wanted simple lunch so made rasam and this masala poriyal. It is perfect to go with curd rice, Rasam rice or even roti. I had some left over which I spread on my toasted bread next day. So this is really multi purpose side dish

Broccoli Paneer Potato Grilled Sandwich - Breakfast recipe - Kids Lunch box recipe

My kids love to have sandwiches in their lunch box or brunch. I normally do broccoli wrap. Last weekend when I wanted prepare wrap I realized that I run out of Wrap. I had loaf of bread. Vegetarian Momos - Steamed Momos recipe - Healthy snack

Momos are one of my favourite snack. In fact we go to one of the restaurant in Little India just for their Momos. Their version is fried one.. I have posted fried momos in my space before.  My favourite is steamed momos. My kids love fried one. Both are good after school snack for the kids. This recipe is from my mom. Even though I love it I don't really make it as it requires tons of oil. And it is very addictive. If it is there I add it to anything I have from my breakfast to dinner.
