When I saw this recipe at Sundari's Mymagic pan I have bookmarked immediately. My 2nd son loves white chocolate in any form. I have decided to do this for his birthday. As I expected he enjoyed every bit of it. This cake was really very soft and light. I have followed her recipe for most parts but I have reduced sugar and replaced some of All purpose flour with whole wheat flour

One of my friend passed me a lot of avocados. She has a avocado tree back home at Malaysia. I love creamy avocado. I have posted many avocado recipes in my space before. At first I just wanted to try paratha with avocado but my 2nd son is not a big fan of this amazing creamy fruit. So, to alter the taste of it I had added spinach. It came out so tasty and soft. Now I have one avocado dish which entire family loves!

I love kolukattai. I do kolukattai almost every time I make idiyappam. I purposely make more dough and do kolukattai next day. My husband likes sweet poornam kolukattai. I like spicy or uppu version. My 2nd son also love the sweet one. I love the flavour of Sesame seeds. Rest of the family loves peanut. So I kind of alternate different stuffings / poornams. GANESH CHATURTHI | VINAYAKA CHAVITHI HISTORY

Before marriage My mum doesn't do elaborate celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. Just normal pooja with one sundal at the most. For me after marriage and moved out India in the early years of marriage I didn't even know when is Ganesh Chaturthi. Now as kids grew up wanted them to keep in touch with Indian traditions I do almost all the hindu festivals. Being in Singapore makes it easier.

I normally make different kind of Sevai  with left over idiyappam. I saw this readymade version of sevai in the shop and brought it. However it was lying in my self for a while. Other day I was checking the kitchen cupboard and saw this pocket. I kept it  outside so that I won't forget about it. I had decided to try some light meal with this for dinner. We love Tofu. I almost make it every other day. Other day we had very heavy meals in the afternoon so for the night I wanted to do simple meal. I love onion esp small onions. My mum uses a lot of small onions. But I do it only if I have alternative for my 1st son. He is ok with grinded one. Most north Indian side dishes are ok with grinded onion tomato paste. But some of the South Indian dishes tastes nice only if you use full onion. This is one such dish. There are 2 different ways you can do Onion gostu or Chettinad Onion Gostu. My cousin always does chettinad version which I will post soon. I seldom do it because of coconut in it. But it can go well with even roti / chappathi also.  Now over to recipe

This is one of the favourite recipe for my kids. If we are visiting any south Indian restaurant this is must for them. They refuse to enter restaurant if Bhatura is not on menu. My kids love Pizza. Well anything with Cheese. I love to make tortilla wraps for weekend brunch. They love it. In addition to making normal pizza base I make pizza with tortilla, left over chapathi, bread or Bagels. You can do the below recipe with any of the above. Even though I make this very often never got a chance to do final click as kids would wait for it and literally behind me so that they can eat the moment I bake it. We love salad / sundal with whole dhals / dal. Chana is something my kids love. This dish can be served as side dish to fried rice, roti or as salad / sundal for a healthy snack ; Starter. I learned this dish after my marriage from a north Indian friend. I had this at her home and liked it very much. When she gave me the recipe I was very surprised that the chana is cooked with tea. At first I thought the dish was made up of black chana. Later realized that the color came from Tea bag. Any way it is very interesting recipe. You should try it out

I love kollu. It is so good for health. To maintain your health and weight Kollu should be included as part of the diet at least twice a week. I do lot of stuff with it. My husband loves Kesari.  I Love to try different variations. Normally I add sugar to make kesari. But in one of the cookery show I saw Kesari made with Jaggery. I wanted to try. Jaggery kesari tastes well with Wheat Rava kesari. I am not a big fan of non milk sweets but this one is really amazing you should try for sure. I think jaggery and wheat combo always works well (at least for me).
