Sprouted Green Gram dhal Dosa - Healthy breakfast recipes

I had some Sprouted Green Gram dhal in the fridge. I wanted to try something new. I know dosa would be good as everyone in our family love dosa. I went ahead to try Dosa with it. I am pretty sure this dish cannot go so wrong as we used to make pesaratu with green gram dhal. It doesn't require fermenting. It is very healthy too.

I love to try chutney with different type of vegetables. I am big fan of eggplant.. my rest of the family is not a big fans of brinjal. So I have to sneak it in with other vegetables. They didn't complain when served this with idli and Dosa. So I found one way to comfortably sneak it in. It is good side dish for idli / Dosa.

Thunder rice

During lunch one of the day my colleagues mentioned about Thunder rice. I was taken by the name of it. Asked them to explain the procedure. Traditional one has anchovies. I wanted to make vegetarian version of it. So I asked them whether I can make without anchovies. Answer was resounding YES. After hearing the ingredients and procedure it sounded healthier option too. When I was in the market and was talking to the shop vendor she was also mentioning that this rice is more on healthier side. I loved the taste of it. Why can't you try this rice for a change? Even though it is long list of ingredients it is worth trying

Mango Juice - Refreshing drink

I was left with couple of Alphonso mangoes which were very ripe. It was a no brainer choice. I have decided to do simple mango juice. Since the mangoes were very sweet I didn't add any sugar also. If you want thicker and creamer version reduce the water. Actually you can gradually add water. We make juices almost every day. I find blender / mixie / food processor works better for mango juice

Baby Potatoes Fry - Small Potato fry - Simple Potato Recipe

My kids are not a big fan of Potatoes. So Potato fry is very rare in our house hold. but whenever I visit Little India I always tempted to buy baby potatoes. I normally add them into korma or do Palak Potatoes. I have tried this at one of my friends house. It tasted good. So I have decided to try it out. I have grinded the onion and garlic but if you are ok you can skip the grinding.

I love the unique taste of Whey water. Esp in soup. This recipe is very tasty and light. For this recipe I have grinded Bell peppers and tomatoes. It gives unique taste to the soup. Parotta is something my kids love. Most of the time I do it with Maida. These days I am not eating food with refined flour as much possible. Sweet Potato - I like the taste of it. Just boiling it with bit of salt is good enough for me. After moving to SG I have seen different varieties of Sweet potatoes. There are white, orange and purple varieties. All are diff in taste. Purple one is not very sweet. When get some good purple variety I will normally buy and make the steamed sweet potato. For this month Shhhhh Cooking Secretly Challenge Sharanya Pathmanathan gave me purple sweet potato and milk as ingredients. The moment I got these ingredients I have decided to try Kheer. It came out pretty good I have used purple sweet potato for this but you can try any variety of sweet potatoes just adjust the sugar based on sweetness of the potatoes. This post goes to
