sprouted green gram gravy - side dish for roti / rice

I had some sprouts in the fridge. I didn't have much vegetable or didn't soak any dals (dhals). So I have decided to gravy with sprouted green gram. It didn't taste same as what my mum used to do. It tasted so good. I also got recipe from my mum. I will post it soon

Pachai Pulisadam / Raw Tamarind Rice

I love this version of tamarind rice. For doing this you don't need to make tamarind paste (hence the name of raw tamarind rice). In this tamarind rice we add loads of onion which normal tamarind rice / puli sadham / puliyodharae doesn't have. My mum used to do this very often as she always cook more rice than needed :-(. Also when she does it it taste better than mine.. May be because of the amount of oil she uses :-) Here I have given measurement based on her recipe.

We had one Indian restaurant near by our office. So whenever we have meetings with my boss on Friday we make it as Friday Lunch meeting as he love Indian food. They serve good naan and I love their Eggplant with yogurt sauce. They have close down couple of years ago. After they have closed down whenever I feel like having it I do it at home. It is perfect raita for lot of one pot meal.

Cauliflower soup

This soup recipe is simple vegan soup. It is very creamy in texture and quite filling. I always prefer to make soup with some vegetable. You can really feel the flavour of the vegetable in the soup. In this I have added potato to get the smooth texture. This soup is very comforting. I have served this with toasted bread.

I love savory pancake. I already posted corn pancake, mushroom pancake. Today I want to post pumpkin pancake. Even though not much local produce available in SG one thing about Singapore is you can get most of the vegetables almost around the year. You can get different country products. I love Australia or Japan pumpkin. If it is fresh you can eat raw. Back to recipe this is very simple and you can do it as snack or breakfast or brunch.

Field Beans (Mochai Gravy)

I am big fan of field beans (mochai) esp the fresh one. You normally get it during pongal time. I love it in any form. My mum used to do lot of different variety with it from simple deep fry to rice. But after moving to Singapore I seldom get this. Even If I can get it I normally buy it small qty (for sambar) due the price..I had visitor from India this month. Brinjal / Eggplant / Katharikai Pulav

This rice is yet another easy one pot meal. Perfect afternoon school / office lunch box. When I bought eggplant I had baingan bharta in my mind. As the week pass by whole plan changed due to various reasons. At the end of week I still was left with eggplant in the fridge. Normally weekend lunch is variety rice. Our family loves pumpkin. At least once a week I make some vegetable base chutney. Every time when I wanted to try out pumpkin chutney I was wondering whether it will become sweet.. makhana roti - Lotus Seeds roti - Lotus seeds chapathi - makhana chapathi - Makhana chapati - Healthy breakfast / dinner recipe

Now makhana seeds are the in thing at our house hold. My kids love the flavour of it. My husband love it due its nutritional value. Phool Makhana is so high in protein. In this recipe I have added silken tofu also. But if it is not available you can use normal water to make the dough. Start your day with a perfect breakfast or end it with a perfect dinner recipe!
