I had this pachadi at my friend's place and that reminds me of similar one that my mum does. That is using grinded coconut and green chilli paste. I love this combination with stuffed chappathi or roti. I can have this just by itself also (One way to include yogurt as part of my diet) If you are yogurt lover this is definitely good alternative to normal ladies finger fryPin It Now!
Theeyal is kerala dish. This my mum sister's signature dish. She lives in Kerala. When we visit her or she visit us we request her to make this. This is very similar to puli kulambu but with loads of coconut. If you are on diet or counting calorie skip thisPin It Now!
I love snake gourd. Back home it is available at the back yard during the season. The ones we get use to be really very long may be that's why it is called sanke gourd. Normally I do simple stir fry with it which you can find at snake gourd simple fry method 1 or method 2 or with peanut. This time, I wanted to try it with Beasan flour with ajwan seeds. It is tasted pretty goodPin It Now!

I was so bored and not decided anything for dinner till late in the evening. Suddenly I had little time left to do something for dinner. I decided to do Rawa Upma. Instead of normal spices decided to try out with spices used for Kanchipuram Idli. Whole family loved it. The spices used in this gave a good twist to it. Before my kids were not found of upuma but recently they have warmed up to it (changing taste buds ??) So these days I have been doing upma at least once a week.Pin It Now!
My mum does this very often. My kids love anything in tamarind sauce. In fact they prefer these kulambu over normal dhal sambar. This week I got bored with normal parrupu sambar (using dhal). This week my husband went for weekly vegetable shopping. He brought Okra but the qty is not enough for fry or too much for parppu sambar. So I hv decided to do Okra in tamarind sauce or puli mandi. This can last for few days up to a week in the fridge. It tastes good as it gets old.Pin It Now!
Back then when I start my career I used to have Maharashtrian colleague. Poha is one of regular lunch box item. I love Poha also. She used to bring potato poha quite often I learned the recipe from her mother. It is so easy and healthy. My mum used to make poha / Aval more for after school snack than meal by itself. I normally bring back fresh khoya everytime when I visit India. It is so fresh and no sugar added.. I use that for making some gravy, malai kofta or just eat by itself ( I am not a sweet person so I can eat without sugar also). Adding Khoya makes the dish very creamy and royal! I love it anytime. If you are on diet this is high calorie side dish.Pin It Now!
My kids love fusion food. They are big fan of local food too.. Manchurian is one of the food they love it. Normally I do this with Cauliflower. It has been a while since I did Manchurian. This weekend I brought baby corn and wanted to try out with that. Also I want to avoid deep frying. So I have done this with shallow fry. It tasted so yummy. My kids had a spoon every time they pass by the kitchen.Pin It Now!
These days I try to take Yogurt at least once a day. I struggle to take plain one. I prefer some flavour or fruits with it. Fruit lassi one of the option. It is easy to make (less time in preparing yet gives you good balanced dish) I normally take it for morning breakfast on the go.Pin It Now!
