I love romali roti. Initially I thought doing it at home is difficult. But sometime ago I came across video by vahchef. It is pretty easy to do it. It comes out pretty good. Key is to make the dough correctly. It goes well with lot of gravy. I served this with Malai kofta.

I love vada curry with appam. My mum does this with steamed vada. It is more healthier. It took a while to convince my kids to try vada curry with appam. Peanut! I am addicted to it.. Any thing I make with it is super hit so far. My kids love peanut chutney with dosa. Normally do simple version of peanut chutney. I wanted spicier version of it. Dum Aloo

Whenever I buy baby potato I end up doing fry with it. Aloo Dum is something I wanted to try for long time. I finally managed to do it. I didn't get the nice color as you see it restaurant as I have used fresh tomatoes. If you use tomato puree you will get the color. Regardless I find the taste is not compromised.

Karasev - Diwali / Deepavali recipes

I wanted to make Karasev at home for quite sometime. My mum has special karandi / spoon for making karasev. Last few times when she was here she was saying you need that spoon to do karasev, normal murukku presser will not work for it as karasev is done using besan flour. So I kind of give up on the idea however when I was planning for this deepavali / diwali I saw posting in many blogs using normal murukku presser. So I have decided to try. My 2nd son loves ladoo. Laddu is very simple to make. Even if you are very busy you can do these ladoos in no time. So this is perfect for any last min festival preparation. Even though it is simple to make there is no compromise in the taste. This ladoo is made with ingredients that is available in most Indian houses. Also requires fewer ingredients.
