Gujarathi Dhal

My Son loves Dhal and Peanut. For me given option I prefer to have something else other than dhal (for iddiyappam, pongal etc..). Today my son was not feeling well and wanted something light to go with Chappathi. I saw this recipe from Mallika Badrinath thought this wouldn't be bad. It is also well balanaced with the addition of peanuts. This is dhal with no onion and garlic.
Ingredients:
Thuar Dhal - 1/2 Cup
Tomatoes - 3
Chilli Powder - 1/2 Cup
Raw Peanuts (groundnuts) - 1/4 Cup
Oil - Table spoon
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
Cloves - 2
Tumeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Coriander Leaves - 1 Tablespoon
Lemon - 1
Green Chillies -5 (Chopped finely)
Ginger - 1/2 Inch piece (chopped finely)
Salt per taste

Method:

Pressure cook dhal in enough water with turmeric powder
Cook raw peanut with salt and keep it aside
Chop tomatoes into 1 inch cubes
Heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, Chpped ginger and green chillies and fry for few mins. When Cumin seeds start to crackle add tomatoes. Fry till it turns pulpy

Mix cooked dhal, chilli powder, salt and cooked peanuts

Cook for few mins and remove from fire
Squeeze lemon Juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with Chappathis or pulkas or rice
