Beans Poriyal with Coconut

Simple Beans Poriyal which will go well with all kind of rices. During my diet program I was surprised that Beans are classified under carb group not under Protein. So if you are counting your Carb then watch out for qty.


Ingredients:
French Beans - 1/4 KG
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Salt as required
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Urad Dhal - 1 teaspoon

Grated Fresh coconut - 1 tablespoon
Green Chillies - 2 or 3
Small Onions - 3
Garlic - 2
Curry leaves - 1 string


Method:


Wash the beans, Cut the ends and remove side fibers
Chop the Beans into fine pieces
Pound coarsely Coconut, Green Chillies, Onion and Garlic
Heat the oil in a kada add oil
When it is hot add mustard seeds and let it splutter
When start splutter add urad dhal and curry leaves. Fry till the dhal is brown
Add cut beans and cook it (add salt and sprinkle water).  if you are using pressure cooker add very less water and salt and cook till 2 whistle
Once beans is cooked add pond mixture and if additional salt required
Mix well and let it get cooked for 3-4  more mins  and remove it from fire Pin It Now!
